Wound Closure Monitor

The "Partially Implantable Wound Closure Monitor" project aims to develop sensor technology which can be left in a wound after MIPs to monitor wound closure. In case of irregularities, e.g. unexpected bleeding or leakage from the suture, such a technology will shorten reaction time and prevent extensive damage.

Totally Implantable
Hearing Aid

R&D for a fibre optics based microphone which can be implanted as a hearing aid and has the potential to adapt to the growth of the inner ear over time.

Structural Health Monitoring

R&D for a structural health monitoring technology, based on fibre optical principles, which can be used to online monitor critical parts and components in planes and trains.
