This project deals with optic design based on wave optical methods for diffractive micro-structures to achieve miniaturized elements as well as extended optical features. The resulting elements are small enough to be implemented into instruments for minimally invasive surgery like endoscopes and catheters.

The following research topics are covered:

  • Implants in cataract surgery with further enhanced vision quality for specific patient
  • Development and implementation of miniaturized optical components to be applied in
    MIP instruments.
  • Development and fabrication of individualized test setups for characterization of single optic elements as well as for clinical evaluation of new design concepts.
